Other parts of the proposal are aimed at relieving some overcrowded schools, increasing the base attendance areas at under-utilized schools, and improving transportation efficiency. 

Some students affected by this proposal will be able to submit a stability transfer and remain at their current school. Review the stability rules.

The School Board will be holding a public hearing regarding the 2022-2023 Student Assignment Enrollment Proposal on Tuesday, November 30, at 5:30 p.m. at 5625 Dillard Drive Cary, NC 27518.

Only public comments pertaining to the enrollment proposal will be permitted. Each speaker will be given two minutes to present remarks.

You can also submit written or video comments directly to the board starting 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, and the forms will close at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30.

The registration period for the hearing will open at approximately 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26 and close at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29. You must register to attend. You will receive an email by Monday evening letting you know if your name was selected to speak or attend. You must reply to the email invitation to confirm attendance. If you do not confirm by noon the day of the meeting, your spot will be offered to the next person on the list. Due to COVID-19 health restrictions, the capacity of the board room is limited to 60 people. If more than 60 people register to speak or attend, names will be randomly selected using Google Sheets. Priority will given to speakers. Only one seat will be allocated to each person selected. This means it is not possible to save seats for others or bring family members who are not allocated a seat.

IMPORTANT: Guidelines regarding face masks at board meetings also apply to this public hearing. Please see below for more information. If you are unable to wear a face covering due to a disability, please let us know when completing the registration form. You will be asked to wait outside the building and will be contacted 5-10 minutes prior to your speaking time. You must wear a face covering if you remain in the room to attend the meeting.
